About
Melisa Ferraro
From Mel
With over 20 years of experience as a front-line paramedic, I bring a grounded, real-world perspective to therapy, rooted in compassion, safety, and respect. I have been in practice since 2024 and am trained in **EMDR**, working from an integrative approach informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Therapy and **person-centred principles**.
I have a special interest in **trauma and adult neurodiversity**, drawing from both clinical training and a deep understanding of neurodiverse lived experiences. I believe in each person’s *intrinsic ability to heal*, and I aim to support clients in uncovering *root causes* rather than just addressing surface-level symptoms.
My approach is *holistic*—recognizing the powerful connection between mind and body—and grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and the belief that **healing is not only possible, but deeply personal**.
